Toni Nicolsen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA). She earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University and is currently working toward full licensure in the state of NC, under the supervision of Pamela Richey, RN, LMFT.
Toni has experience counseling individuals, couples, and families, and particularly enjoys working with children aged 5-12. Much of her work with children utilizes a play therapy approach, and has been under the supervision of Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Sarah Harris, LMFT, RPT. Toni has worked with children and adults experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, school/work concerns, relationship struggles, grief, divorce adjustment, and many more. Toni also has experience facilitating group therapy, including stress and anxiety management, as well as social skill development.
In addition, Toni specializes in working with issues surrounding infertility, and spent the majority of her graduate experience working with women and men that are experiencing the emotional and physical losses associated with infertility. In addition, Toni works with well-known fertility clinics in the Triangle and is knowledgeable in working with individuals and couples that are navigating potential options for family building, such as the use of donor gametes, IVF, and childfree living.

- Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University
- Certified Facilitator of Prepare/Enrich pre-marital therapy assessment
- Member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy
